Lord Crathorne KCVO
The Right Honourable Lord Crathorne, who held the post of Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire from 1999 until 2014, has been involved with heritage matters for over four decades, including in the House of Lords as Co-chair of the All Party Parliamentary Arts and Heritage Group and Member of the Lords Speakers Advisory Panel on Arts and Heritage.
Outside of Westminster, James Crathorne is currently President of the Yorkshire Branch of CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England), Vice President of PMSA (Public Monuments and Sculptures Association), Trustee of The Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond, North Yorkshire and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the Society of Antiquaries.
Previously, he has held Trustee roles at the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the York Minster Fund and the Yorkshire Regional Committee of the National Trust, as well as Chairman of the Trustees of the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum.
